The first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic agri-food sector, #DigiAgrifood, as a member of the coordination team of the Agrifood Thematic Working Group of the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network, participated in Thematic Session I: “IoT, opportunities for the agri-food sector from a practical perspective.” In the context of this session, the members of the working group presented use cases of IoT technology utilization in the agri-food value chain, with an emphasis on the digitization process of small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector.
Ioannis Amarantidis, project manager of #DigiAgriFood, analyzed the successful case of the hub’s service provision to a business in Central Macedonia and the benefits the business gained from these services.
Similar presentations were made by the other attending representatives of the European agri-food hubs, highlighting the contribution of IoT technology in addressing challenges in the agri-food sector and presenting numerous examples of good practices.
