Beyond Expo 2025, the premier exhibition for technology and innovation, successfully concluded at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens, and #DigiAgriFood, the first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic Agri-food sector, was there to present its activities, connect with the innovation ecosystem, and inspire the public about the future of agri-food in the digital era.
The hub was present at HALL 4, stand A16/B15, at the booth of its lead partner, the Democritus University of Thrace, where visitors had the opportunity to learn about the hub’s initiatives and engage in discussions with representatives of the partner organizations.
On Saturday, April 5th, interest peaked with two unique events held as part of the exhibition. The first, which took place at the #DigiAgriFood booth, was the presentation of the Startup Guide for Greek AgTech & FoodTech companies, created by Reframe.food with the support of the hub.
This guide maps out the agri-food innovation ecosystem in Greece, offering valuable tools and information to startups, scale-ups, and SMEs in the sector. It serves as a dynamic resource for those seeking to better understand the opportunities, collaborations, and trends in the Greek AgriFood tech scene.
The second event was held in the workshop area of the exhibition, where a technologically innovative solution in the field of smart greenhouses was presented, featuring the participation of Perrotis College – American Farm School, Cisco, and Green Projects.
During the event, Ilias Kalfas represented the American Farm School as a speaker, while Ioannis Amarantidis, Senior Project Manager at #DigiAgriFood, also took the stage to present the Hub and highlight its strategic actions toward the digital transformation of the agrifood sector.
Attendees had the opportunity to explore examples of technological applications in agriculture, aiming for sustainability, efficiency, and practical innovation.
