Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, as partner of the the first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic Agri-Food Sector, #DigiAgriFood, in an attempt to reinforce the Hub’s Services of Access to Funding, held on the 10th of October 2024 a workshop under the subject of “Financial Tools in the Agri-Food Sector”. The workshop took place in the Regional Unity of Rodopi, at G. Paulidis hall, in Komotini at 18:00 pm.

During this workshop we had the pleasure of hosting specialized executive members who presented the function and the purpose of the most recent financial tools of the agri-food sector. More specifically the beginning of the workshop was made by Mr Amarantidis Jiannis, Project Manager of the Head Partner of the Hub, Democritus University of Thrace who gave an overview of DigiAgriFood, while Mr Kefalidis Eustathios, General Manager of Anaptixiki Rodopis presented LEADER as financial tool in rural communities.

The presentations’ conclusion was made by Executive members of Administrative Authority & EF from the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food, Ms. Panopolou Kleopatra who presented the Measure of Establishment of New Farmers, with its invitation pending till the end of 2024, while Mr Dellis Evaggelos analyzed the ongoing invitation of Measure Constitution of Groups and Organizations of Producers.

After completing the presentations questions were asked by the attendes and thus a fruitful and constructive discussion took place, with the aim of highlighting the ways in which financial tools can be used more productively to create conditions of business viability throughout the spectrum of the agri-food sector.
