The University of Thessaly, as a partner of the first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic agri-food sector, #DigiAgriFood, and JOIST Innovation Park, the Greek coordinating partner of the Biofarms project, are co-organizing the open event titled: “Local Innovation Hub for Circular Agricultural Production.”
The event will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 19:00 to 20:30, at JOIST Innovation Park (Valtetsiou & Tripoleos, Larissa), with free admission and in-person participation.
The event is organized within the framework of the European project Biofarms (Interreg IPA ADRION), which focuses on circular economy approaches in the agri-food sector, and its collaboration with the #DigiAgriFood Hub for the operation of a Local Support Hub for businesses and producers in Thessaly.
#DigiAgriFood is the first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic agri-food sector and plays a central role in the modernization of the industry. Its mission is to foster digital and green transformation across the entire agri-food value chain, providing services with direct benefits to farmers, livestock breeders, SMEs, and the public sector.
Purpose of the Event
Strengthening the ecosystem of stakeholders in the agri-food sector is a key objective of the event. This objective will be achieved through:
- promoting innovation in businesses regarding the adoption of circular economy practices and digital transformation,
- supporting participants through the digital services offered,
- providing information about training activities and participation opportunities.
The event also serves as an opportunity for networking and exchange of ideas among stakeholders, aiming to shape appropriate policies and collaborations for the agri-food sector.
During the Event, the Following Will Be Presented:
- The Biofarms – DigiAgriFood Local Hub in Thessaly and the benefits of participation for businesses and organizations.
- Actions and related services, with particular emphasis on AGRONIT, the integrated field data management system that supports decision-making in the agri-food sector.
- The broader strategic framework and opportunities, through a brief presentation of RIS3 and the European project Farm360Tech, highlighting potential funding tools and collaboration opportunities for businesses.
At the end of the event, a short open discussion with audience participation will be moderated, followed by networking time with a buffet at the JOIST venue.
