On June 18, 2025, the first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic Agri-food sector, #DigiAgriFood, had the opportunity to visit the facilities of Kronos S.A., one of the world’s leading fruit processing and composting industries, located in the region of Mavrovouni, Skydra.
The company holds the first position in Europe and the third globally in its sector, exporting its products to 85 countries. Kronos S.A. specializes in the processing of fruits such as peaches, apricots, pears, apples, and kiwis, producing a wide range of products including fruit compotes, purées, and natural juices.
During our visit, we held a meeting with the Head of Raw Materials, Mr. Vasilis Zisis, who presented the main challenges the company is facing and the areas where digitalization could offer substantial solutions in the future. Special emphasis was placed on how the services already received through the #DigiAgriFood hub have supported the company’s daily operations. The visit concluded with an interview with Mr. Zisis, in which he shared his impressions and experiences from the collaboration with the hub, highlighting the significant role that technological support plays in enhancing efficiency and driving innovation in the sector.
Kronos S.A. stands as a prime example of a company that successfully merges Greece’s rich agri-food resources with modern technology, creating high-quality products with global reach.
