On November 26 and 27, 2024, #DigiAgriFood, the first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic Agri-Food Sector, actively participated in the EDIH Network Summit 2024, held at The Egg in Brussels. This annual summit brought together representatives from EDIHs across Europe to foster collaboration and co-create strategies for the future.
The #DigiAgriFood team, consisting of Maria Michalopoulou, Ioannis Amarantidis, Dionysis Voglitsis, and Dimitris Bardakidis, engaged in networking activities, discussions, and workshops focused on shaping the next phase of hub operations.
Notably, Ioannis Amarantidis met with Malgorzata Nikowska, Head of the Innovation & AI Unit at the EU, and the new project officer Antoine Andre, to discuss the next phase of the EDIHs and the evolution of the program.
Key Activities of DigiAgriFood at the Summit
Day 1 – Thematic Working Group Workshop on Agri-Food
On Tuesday, November 26, #DigiAgriFood participated in the workshop of the Thematic Working Group, focusing on the priorities for the agri-food sector in 2025.During the workshop, strategic goals were discussed and set, including:
- Development of a comprehensive training program.
- Establishment of clear service processes for SMEs.
- Coordination for shared resources and innovation support.
- Alignment on priority technologies.
- Creation of a robust network of events and communication activities.
Day 2 – Networking and Collaboration Activities
On November 27, the team participated in networking activities and discussions with other EDIHs, promoting collaboration and sharing experiences. The goal was to showcase #DigiAgriFood’s progress over the past two years and strengthen its relationships with European stakeholders.
#DigiAgriFood’s participation in the EDIH Network Summit 2024 highlighted its critical role in supporting the agri-food sector through digital innovation. Through its activities, the hub contributed to developing strategies and solutions that enhance sustainability and competitiveness for businesses.
