The University of Thessaly, partner of #DigiAgriFood, with the support of the Region of Thessaly, is organising a two-day event titled “The Digital Transformation of Agri-Food in Thessaly”.
The event will take place on Monday, 25 May and Tuesday, 26 May 2026, in Larissa, at JOIST Innovation Park, Central Amphitheatre, located at Valtetsiou and Tripoleos Street.
The two-day event focuses on the role of digital technologies in the agri-food sector, highlighting how digital agriculture, data utilisation, decision-support platforms and new business models can contribute to the sustainable development of Thessaly’s agri-food ecosystem.
Within the framework of the event, key thematic areas will be presented, including Digital Agriculture, Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Decision-Making, aiming to showcase practical solutions and synergies that can support producers, businesses and stakeholders across the agri-food sector.
The event will include speeches, panel discussions and a workshop, with the participation of representatives from the Region of Thessaly, the University of Thessaly, DigiAgriFood, agri-food organisations and businesses.

Speakers include, among others, D. Tsetsilas, Deputy Regional Governor for the Primary Sector and Agricultural Economy of the Region of Thessaly, M. Kyrgiafini, Researcher at the University of Thessaly, Z. Mamouris, Professor at the University of Thessaly and Scientific Coordinator of DigiAgriFood, S. Vasilopoulos, Researcher at the University of Thessaly, G. Tolias, Project Manager of RIS3 Thessaly, and Th. The first day will also include two panel discussions, with the participation of representatives from agricultural associations, businesses, regional organisations and local innovation hubs.

On the second day, a workshop will take place under the title:
“Synergy between Innovation Hubs in Thessaly for the Digitalisation of Agri-Food and the Circular Economy”
The workshop will focus on the importance of collaboration between organisations and innovation hubs for strengthening the digitalisation of agri-food and promoting circular economy practices in Thessaly.
The two-day event represents an important opportunity for information exchange and dialogue around the digital and green transformation of agri-food, bringing together academia, the Region, producers, businesses and innovation stakeholders.
Through this initiative, DigiAgriFood continues to support the connection between research, innovation and real needs in the field, contributing to a smarter, more sustainable and more competitive agri-food sector.
