The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Partner of the European Digital Innovation Hub in the Agri-Food Sector #DigiAgriFood, is organizing on Monday, May 26, 2025, the Networking Event titled “Collaboration in Practice”, at the G. Pavlidis Hall (Regional Unit of Rhodope building, Komotini), from 09:00 to 13:20.
The event is implemented through the Regional Development Fund and the Regional Council for Research and Innovation of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (PAMTH), aiming to strengthen the connection between the research and business communities, through the presentation of good practices, thematic panels, and policy proposals for the future of the innovation ecosystem in the region.
At the event, the following will be presented:
• The Support Mechanism of the Regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (s3remth),
• The review of the first implementation period of the Regional Smart Specialization Strategy (S3),
• The networking actions of the s3remth mechanism,
• As well as the results of the study conducted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) for our Region within the framework of the S3 Community of Practice initiative. At the same time, reference will be made to the possibilities of utilizing the I3 Instrument as a financial tool to support interregional cooperation.
The Participation of #DigiAgriFood
Democritus University of Thrace, coordinating partner of the #DigiAgriFood Hub, will actively participate in the event, highlighting its role in the digital empowerment of SMEs in the agri-food sector.
Specifically, Maria Michalopoulou, Member of the Governing Council of DUTH and Scientific Coordinator of #DigiAgriFood, will take part in the panel “Good Practices in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace”.
The event hosts a rich program with greetings and panel participation from distinguished professionals, researchers, and officials such as the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Mr. Christodoulos Topsidis, the Vice-Rector of DUTH, Ms. Marirena Grigoriou, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of DUTH, Mr. Georgios Broufas, and the Head of the Special Managing Authority of PAMTH, Mr. Panagiotis Koudoumakis. It includes presentations, panels, and discussions with:
