Democritus University of Thrace, as the lead partner of the first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic Agri-food sector, #DigiAgriFood, and the Laboratory of Agricultural Entomology & Zoology of the Department of Agricultural Development, are organizing an educational seminar on:
“Integrated Pest Management: Challenges & Perspectives for Digital Transformation in Agriculture” on Sunday, 23/2/2025, from 18:00 to 20:00 at the ELGO–Dimitra building in Chrisoupoli, Kavala.
The seminar will be held with the support of the Nestos Agricultural Association, the Municipality of Nestos, and Agrotech SA.
In the first part of the seminar, Prof. Georgios Mproufas, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at DUTH, Professor of Agricultural Entomology and Zoology, will explain the topic of the seminar. Later, Dr. Konstantinos Samaras, Postdoctoral Researcher at DUTH, will give a lecture titled: “Insect Trapping Using Digital Tools.”
Finally, Agrotech SA will demonstrate the digital tools, such as insect traps and more.
The event is open to the public, with a primary focus on farmers, agricultural cooperatives, agricultural advisors, agronomists, students, etc.
