iBO / CERTH and FarmB Digital Agriculture, under the auspices of the Region of Eastern Macedonia – Thrace, successfully organized the event “Digital Transformation in Agriculture and Sustainability” in Alexandroupoli as part of the #DigiAgriFood project, the first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic Agri-food sector.
The event took place on Thursday, January 16, at 18:00 in Alexandroupoli, at the “ALEXANDROS KRITIS” Lecture Hall.
This workshop showcased the latest advancements in new technologies and their contribution to strengthening agri-food production and market development. At the same time, it provided valuable insights and tools to help participants understand how the digital transformation of agricultural supply chains benefits the agri-food sector in terms of competitiveness, efficiency, quality, transparency, traceability, and sustainability.
The DigiAgriFood European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) aims to empower the digital and green transformation across the entire agri-food value chain, delivering direct benefits to citizens, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the broader public sector. It specializes in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Advanced Digital Skills, High-Performance Computing, Digital Transformation, and Interoperability, directly contributing to the missions and goals of the “Digital Europe 2021-2027” program.
The event’s interdisciplinary and holistic approach deepened knowledge in the following areas:
- Business models based on digital technologies that add value to agricultural products.
- Data-driven technologies for supporting decision-making in agricultural enterprises.
- Digital farming tools and responsible data sharing.
- Sustainability in the agricultural sector through the use of digital tools.
