The <\/span>University of Thessaly<\/b>, partner of <\/span>#DigiAgriFood<\/b>, with the support of the <\/span>Region of Thessaly<\/b>, is organising a two-day event titled <\/span>\u201cThe Digital Transformation of Agri-Food in Thessaly\u201d<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will take place on <\/span>Monday, 25 May and Tuesday, 26 May 2026<\/b>, in <\/span>Larissa<\/b>, at <\/span>JOIST Innovation Park<\/b>, Central Amphitheatre, located at <\/span>Valtetsiou and Tripoleos Street<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two-day event focuses on the role of digital technologies in the agri-food sector, highlighting how digital agriculture, data utilisation, decision-support platforms and new business models can contribute to the sustainable development of Thessaly\u2019s agri-food ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n

Within the framework of the event, key thematic areas will be presented, including <\/span>Digital Agriculture<\/b>, <\/span>Sustainability<\/b>, <\/span>Entrepreneurship<\/b> and <\/span>Decision-Making<\/b>, aiming to showcase practical solutions and synergies that can support producers, businesses and stakeholders across the agri-food sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will include speeches, panel discussions and a workshop, with the participation of representatives from the Region of Thessaly, the University of Thessaly, DigiAgriFood, agri-food organisations and businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speakers include, among others, <\/span>D. Tsetsilas<\/b>, Deputy Regional Governor for the Primary Sector and Agricultural Economy of the Region of Thessaly, <\/span>M. Kyrgiafini<\/b>, Researcher at the University of Thessaly, <\/span>Z. Mamouris<\/b>, Professor at the University of Thessaly and Scientific Coordinator of DigiAgriFood, <\/span>S. Vasilopoulos<\/b>, Researcher at the University of Thessaly, <\/span>G. Tolias<\/b>, Project Manager of RIS3 Thessaly, and <\/span>Th. Korakis<\/b>, Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly and Deputy Scientific Coordinator of DigiAgriFood.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first day will also include two panel discussions, with the participation of representatives from agricultural associations, businesses, regional organisations and local innovation hubs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSynergy between Innovation Hubs in Thessaly for the Digitalisation of Agri-Food and the Circular Economy\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

The workshop will focus on the importance of collaboration between organisations and innovation hubs for strengthening the digitalisation of agri-food and promoting circular economy practices in Thessaly.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two-day event represents an important opportunity for information exchange and dialogue around the digital and green transformation of agri-food, bringing together academia, the Region, producers, businesses and innovation stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n
